Aswins Sweets & Home Packers Veg Restaurant

You can find us on Vayalur Road in the eastern part of Trichy. We are situated very close to Bishop Heber College, which is a major landmark in the 620008 area. We do two things here: we have the sweets section and then the vegetarian restaurant. It’s a busy spot because of the students and the people living in Tiruchirappalli East. We’ve been around for a good while. The restaurant part gets really packed in the mornings for breakfast and then again in the evening. We make a lot of traditional sweets that people take home for festivals or just for a treat. The kitchen is always on the go. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of frying or people ordering their meals. We don't have fancy interior designers; the tables are just there for eating. We focus on getting the food right and making sure the sweets are fresh on the shelf. Some of our staff have been with us since we opened. We see a lot of familiar faces every day, especially the college crowd from across the road. It’s a simple operation. We don't use much marketing stuff or spend money on flyers. People know us because they walk past us or they’ve heard from their neighbors. It's a local business through and through. We just keep the stove going and the counters stocked. It’s a bit hectic sometimes, but that’s just how it goes in a place like this.
