We've been here on the main road in Balaji Nagar for a while now. Pappakurichi Kattur is a busy part of Trichy, and being at No. 1 gives us a good view of everyone heading to work in the morning. Our kitchen gets started early, well before the sun is really up. You can hear the pots clanking and the smell of the first batch of food starts drifting out onto the street. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy, just a place where people can come in and sit down for a bit. The traffic on the main road can be a lot sometimes, especially during the afternoon rush, but inside it’s just the usual routine. We see the same faces every day, mostly folks living around here or workers passing through. It’s hard work keeping everything running, and sometimes we’re running a bit behind, but we get it done. The building itself has its quirks, like the way the light hits the front door in the evening. We don't spend much time worrying about decorations or anything like that. We just focus on what’s cooking and making sure there’s enough for everyone who walks through the door. Trichy is a loud, active city and we’re just one small part of it here in Kattur. People know where to find us right there on the corner, and we’re usually around until things quiet down late at night. There's always something to clean or prep for the next morning.
