Marappachi Dairy Farmers Producer Company Limited is based over at 1A/1, East Car Street in Thuraiyur. It is right there in the Tiruchirappalli district, and things stay pretty busy around this part of town. Most of us here have been around cattle our whole lives. Every morning starts quite early because the cows need tending to regardless of the weather or how we feel. Our group is mostly made up of local people from the surrounding villages who bring their milk in. The office on East Car Street isn't anything fancy, just a place for us to keep the records straight and talk to the farmers when they drop by. Thuraiyur can get really hot in the summer months, so we try to get the heavy work done before the sun is too high. You can usually find someone at the desk checking the ledger or handling the cans. We don't really do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where we are. It is just a regular local business run by people who know the land. We have some chairs for visitors, but mostly it is just a working space. Sometimes the street outside gets crowded with traffic from the temple nearby, but we just work around it. It’s a simple setup where we focus on the daily chores of a dairy collective. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep things moving one day at a time.
