Shanakya Farmers Producer Companylimited is located at No. 2/84-A on South Street in Karattampatty. This is part of Musiri Taluka, which is a fairly rural area. We are a small group of farmers who put this company together because we wanted to have a better way to sell what we grow. Our office is a small room on South Street, and it’s usually quite dusty because of the winds. We don't have any employees in suits or big office desks. It’s just us, wearing our work clothes and talking about the price of fertilizers or the lack of rain. We spend most of our time out in the fields and only come to the office when we need to sign some papers or meet with a buyer. Karattampatty is a place where everyone helps each other out. If one of us has a problem, we all hear about it and try to fix it. We don't have any marketing materials or big goals of expanding across the country. We just want to make sure the local farmers are taken care of. Musiri Taluka has some good land, but it takes a lot of effort to get a good yield. We just put in the hours and hope for the best every season. It’s not complicated. We just do our best with what we have and keep moving forward every single day.
