Watermelon The Kids Saloon

Watermelon The Kids Saloon is located over in Wagle Indl Est W which is a bit of a different spot for a place like ours. Since we mostly deal with children the shop is full of things to keep them busy so they do not wiggle around too much in the chairs. We have some bright colors on the walls and some toys scattered around the waiting area. Cutting hair for kids is not like working on adults because they get scared or bored really fast. We have to be quick with the scissors and sometimes we have to stop and wait for them to calm down before we continue. The shop gets pretty loud with the sound of cartoons playing on the small television we have mounted on the wall. Parents come in looking a bit stressed out because their toddlers do not want a haircut but we are used to it by now. The chairs are smaller than usual and some of them look like cars or animals to make the kids feel better about sitting still. We spend a lot of time cleaning up small bits of hair from the colorful floor mats we have put down. It is a busy environment and there is always something going on whether it is a baby crying or a kid laughing at the screen. We keep plenty of lollipops on hand for when the job is done to make things easier.
