Tukanya Dal Mill

You can find Tukanya Dal Mill over in Pathare Park, which is part of Ambedkar Nagar in Ambernath. Being in Thane district, we get a lot of local produce coming through our doors. The mill is a noisy place when the machines are running, but that is the sound of work getting done. We spend our days processing dal and making sure it is ready for the market. It is dusty work, and by the end of the shift, we usually have a layer of it on our clothes. We are not a massive factory, just a local mill that has been serving this area for some time. The neighborhood around Ambedkar Nagar is full of families and other small businesses, so there is always someone stopping by for a chat. We do not have a big reception area or anyone to greet you at the door. You just walk in and find whoever is near the bags of grain. Our equipment is older but it still works fine if you take care of it. Sometimes parts break and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them ourselves. That is just how it goes in the milling business. We take pride in what we do without making a big fuss about it. We just want to provide good dal to the people around here and keep the business running for another year. It is a simple life but it keeps us busy and we like it that way.
