Swibiz Couture

Our shop is tucked away at Ho- B7 on Sukur Ghodbunder Road in Anand Nagar. It’s a small space, mostly filled with measuring tapes, chalk, and big rolls of cloth. We spend most of our time looking at patterns and trying to get the fit right. It’s just a few of us here. The windows look out onto the main road, so we see the traffic moving all day. It’s a bit of a climb to get to us sometimes. Swibiz Couture doesn't have a big reception area or anything. You just walk in and see us working. There’s always a pile of scrap fabric in the corner that we need to clear out. We do a lot of pinning and unpinning. Sometimes a dress takes way longer than we thought it would. That’s just part of the job. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people walking in or hearing about us from their neighbors. It gets a bit messy during the wedding season because there’s just so much fabric everywhere. You can barely see the tables. We keep the tea kettle going in the back. It’s a quiet life, mostly just the sound of scissors cutting through silk or cotton. We try to keep things organized, but when you're busy, things just end up wherever they land. It’s a real working space, not a gallery. We stay busy with the needles.
