If you come down Gupta Road in Kolhapur, you’ll find us at Bal Krushna. We have a bit of a mixed business here called Shubham Colddrink House & Tours & Travels. It’s an interesting way to work because one minute we are serving a cold soda and the next we are booking a trip for someone. The fridge is always humming in the background, which is a sound we’ve gotten used to over the years. When it’s really hot outside, the colddrink side of things gets very busy and the shop gets crowded. People like to stand around and drink their sodas while they talk about where they want to go. We have a small desk tucked into the corner where we handle the travel bookings. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes but it works for us. The street outside is usually full of people and vehicles, so there’s never a dull moment. We have some old posters on the walls and a few crates stacked up in the back. We aren't trying to be a fancy travel agency; we are just a local spot where you can get a drink and organize a ride. It’s a practical setup and we like being part of the daily life on Gupta Road. Most of our customers are regulars who live nearby. We just take things as they come and try to keep everyone refreshed and on their way. It is just a normal shop for regular people.
