Gala Springs is located at A-59 on Road Number 10 in the Wagle Industrial Estate. If you know the area, you know it’s a big maze of factories and workshops. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t get lost anymore. We make springs of all sizes. It’s interesting work because you wouldn't think there are so many types of springs until you start making them. The machines we use are heavy and can be a bit temperamental if the weather changes, but we know how to handle them. The shop floor is always covered in bits of wire and metal shavings. We try to sweep up at the end of the day, but by the next morning, it’s back to how it was. We don’t have a fancy office for meeting people. Usually, if someone wants to talk, we just stand near the machines where it’s loud. It’s a practical way to run things. We’ve seen other businesses come and go in the estate, but we just keep doing our thing. The rent goes up every now and then, but we manage to keep the doors open. It’s just hard work and making sure the tension on the springs is what it’s supposed to be. No magic to it, just experience. We just hope the machines keep running through the next batch of coils.
