We are located at 31 in the Jay Industrial Estate, which is part of Sativali Udyog Nagar on Sativali Road. To get here, you have to head out to Village Waliv in Vasai East. It is a bit of a trek from the main railway station, and the roads can get pretty dusty with all the trucks moving in and out of the industrial area. Our unit is mostly filled with boxes of mixers, grinders, and iron boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We spend the morning unloading components and the afternoon checking that everything is put together correctly. It is not a quiet place because there is always someone testing a motor or taping up a shipping carton. The floor is grey concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we do. We have a small corner with a couple of chairs where we sit to have our lunch and talk about the news. The sun beats down on the corrugated roof in the summer, so it gets pretty warm inside, but we keep the big shutters open to let in whatever air we can get. We are not trying to be fancy here. We just focus on the appliances and making sure the orders are ready for the transport trucks that show up in the evening. It is just how things are out here in Vasai for us.
