Vichi Traders

If you’ve ever spent time at the Vashi APMC Complex, you know it’s not for the faint of heart. Our units at 57, 58, and 60 in Market-I are right in the middle of all that chaos in Sector-19. Vichi Traders is basically a place where goods are constantly moving in and out. We start our day when most people are still asleep, watching the trucks arrive in Phase-Ii and getting the crates sorted. It’s a dusty, loud environment with people shouting prices and loaders moving heavy bags on their backs. Our office is just a tiny room with a couple of chairs that have seen better days and a ceiling fan that wobbles a little too much. We don’t spend much time sitting down anyway. Most of the day is spent on the market floor, checking the quality of what’s coming in and haggling over the rates. It’s a very hands-on way to make a living, and you get a lot of dirt under your fingernails. We drink a lot of tea from the guys who walk around with kettles, and that keeps us going through the long shifts. There aren't any fancy brochures or marketing people here; it’s just us and the goods we trade. It’s a tough environment sometimes, especially when the weather is bad, but it’s an honest way to work and we’ve been doing it this way for years now.
