Working at D-221 in the MIDC area of Nerul means you get used to the industrial landscape pretty fast. Pennwalt Ltd. has been operating out of this Belapur Road spot for quite a while now. The facility is large and can get quite cold in the winter mornings, but it warms up fast once the machinery starts running. We have a lot of space here, which is good because the equipment we deal with isn't small. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the different sections of the plant. The staff here is a mix of older guys who have seen everything and some younger ones learning the ropes. We don't have those fancy modern offices with bean bags or anything like that. It’s just desks, chairs, and a lot of technical manuals. The commute can be a bit of a pain with the traffic on Belapur Road, but everyone manages to get in eventually. Lunch is usually a quick affair so we can get back to whatever we were doing. We don't talk much about visions or goals in a big way; we just talk about what needs to be shipped out by Friday. It’s a very practical environment where the focus is on the hardware and the technical details. If something breaks, we fix it. If an order comes in, we process it. It’s a straightforward, hardworking atmosphere that suits the kind of work we do every day without needing any extra polish.
