We’ve been over here at C/24 Ttc in Pawne for quite a while now. It gets hot, and people need ice, so that’s what we do. It’s not a complicated business, but it keeps us busy every single day. We started with just a couple of machines and now the floor is pretty full. Making ice is mostly about keeping the water clean and the freezers running right. Sometimes a machine breaks down at 3 AM and someone has to come in and fix it so the morning deliveries aren't late. We don't have a fancy office or anything, just the production area and some desks. The trucks come in early, load up the bags, and head out. We see the same drivers every day. It's a lot of lifting and moving stuff around in the cold, which is nice in the summer but a bit tough in the winter mornings. We mostly just focus on getting the blocks and cubes out to whoever needs them around here. People know where we are. If you walk by, you'll hear the humming of the compressors. It’s a loud place to work, but you get used to it. We just try to keep things moving and make sure there’s enough ice for the weekend rushes. It’s honest work, and it keeps the neighborhood cool when the sun is beating down on everyone. We're just regular folks doing our jobs.
