Maharshi Gurukul English School

Our school is tucked away in the Bapgaon Jay Maharshi Nagar area of Kalyan East. It’s a bit of a name, but locals know where Maharshi Gurukul English School is. We’ve been running things here for a while, providing a place for kids in this part of Mumbai to learn in English. The area around Devrung is developing, but it still feels like a tight community. Our building isn't a skyscraper. It’s a straightforward structure with enough rooms for the different grades. We try to keep the atmosphere a bit strict because that’s what helps kids learn. It gets quite hot here in the summer months, so we keep the fans going. The teachers really put in the effort. They live around here too, so they understand the background of the students. We aren't doing anything revolutionary. We just follow the syllabus and make sure the students do their homework. The playground is where the kids get to blow off steam. It’s not perfect, but it’s ours. We have many families who have sent all their children to us over the years. That kind of trust is important in a place like Kalyan East. We don't have a big marketing budget. We just open the gates every morning and do the work. It’s a busy life, but seeing the kids pass their exams makes it worth it. Sometimes we have to remind the parents to pick up their children on time when the bell rings. It's a lot of work.
