You’ll find us on the first floor of the Gundecha Industrial Estate. It’s over on Akurli Road in Kandivali East, not too far from the Western Express Highway. Being that close to the highway means there’s always a lot of noise, but it makes it easier for the trucks to find us. We’ve been in this spot for some time. The building is one of those old industrial places with big stairs and heavy doors. Inside, it’s mostly just us working with fabrics and laces. It gets quite dusty sometimes with all the material lying around. We spend a lot of time at our desks or moving between the cutting tables. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs more than we’d like. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of other businesses around us. We aren't trying to be anything huge, just keeping the production moving. Lunch usually happens at our desks or sometimes someone goes out to get snacks from the local shops nearby. The lighting in the unit isn't the brightest, but we have lamps where we need them. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do. We just keep our heads down and try to finish the batches on time every week. That’s pretty much the daily routine for everyone here and we don't mind the hard work one bit.
