I. G. International

Our spot is F-6 in the A. P. M. C. Fruit Market. We call the business I. G. International. If you've ever been to the fruit market, you know how chaotic it gets in the early hours of the morning. That’s when we’re busiest, with trucks coming in and crates moving everywhere. It’s not a fancy office at all, just a functional stall where we track the shipments and try to keep things organized. There’s always the smell of fresh fruit in the air and people shouting to get things moved. We’ve been here at F-6 for a long time. It’s a hard-working environment and not very clean because of all the wooden crates and packing material. I. G. International handles various types of produce depending on the season. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the relationships we've built over the years at A. P. M. C. Most of the day is spent on the phone or checking the quality of what arrives. It’s a bit of a maze in the market if you don’t know your way around. We’ve got a small desk tucked in the corner for the paperwork. Sometimes the power goes out, but we keep going anyway. It’s just how it is working in a big market. We show up early, we leave late, and we try to keep things moving. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
