Gurukul - The Day School

Gurukul - The Day School is located right on Pipeline Road in Kalyan East. If you know Thane, you know how busy this stretch can get, especially during the morning rush. The school sits where you can see the daily life of the neighborhood unfolding. We start early because the sun gets quite hot later in the day. Our staff is mostly people from nearby, so we all know the shortcuts to avoid the traffic on the way in. The building itself is simple. We don't go for anything too flashy. Most days, it’s just about getting the students through the gate and into their seats. You’ll see parents on scooters dropping off their kids before they head to work. The noise from the road is just part of the background here. We have a small area where kids wait in the afternoon. It gets a bit loud when everyone is leaving at once. Sometimes the monsoons make Pipeline Road a bit difficult, but we manage to stay open and keep things running. It’s a very practical place. We focus on the basics and making sure the kids are safe while they are with us. There’s a tea stall not too far away where the staff sometimes goes during a break. It feels like a small community inside a very big, busy city. We’ve seen many families grow up in this part of Kalyan over the years.
