Our office and workshop are located on L.B.S. Marg in Thane West, right near the Majiwada junction. If you know the area, you know how the traffic can get around there, especially during the evening rush. Goma Engineering has been around for a while now. We mostly deal with high-pressure pumps and dairy processing equipment. It’s a lot of stainless steel and heavy parts lying around the floor. The workshop gets loud when the testing starts, but that is just part of the daily routine for us. We have a mix of old-timers who have been here for decades and some newer faces who are still learning the ropes of pump maintenance. Thane has grown so much around us, with all the malls and new towers, but our gate on the main road stays the same. We don’t have any polished lobby or anything like that; it’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of engineering drawings spread out. Usually, someone is always on the phone coordinating a delivery or a service call. The air conditioning in the back office is a bit temperamental, so we usually keep the windows cracked when the weather allows. It is a practical environment where we focus on getting the machinery built right. We have our hands full most days, especially when big orders for the beverage industry come in at the same time.
