We are over here at Navghar Road in Bhayandar East, right inside the Venus Appartment building at D/20. Most days start early because the traffic around here gets pretty bad later on. Suswani Fashions is basically where we spend all our time lately. The room is usually full of different fabrics and the smell of new clothes. It’s a bit cramped with all the desks and samples lying around, but we manage. My uncle started this whole thing years ago and it just kind of grew into this private limited setup. We don't have a big fancy sign or a glass front, just a door that stays open when it's too hot. Sometimes the courier guys get lost finding the building because the street names are a bit confusing around here. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers or checking if the stitching is straight on the new batches. It’s not like those big corporate offices you see in the movies. It’s just us working through piles of orders and making sure everything is ready for dispatch. We have tea twice a day from the stall downstairs, and that’s usually when we catch up on what’s happening in the neighborhood. The fans hum all day long and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home now. We just do our work and go home when the sun sets and the street lights come on.
