Our shop is in Sambhaji Sadan on B Cabin Road, which is a busy little stretch in Thane West. Being near the Railway Colony and Shivaji Nagar means there are always people walking past on their way to the station or coming home from work. We’ve been running Beauty Art as a small family thing for some years. It isn’t a massive place with bright flashing lights, just a few chairs and the usual tools we need. The noise from the trains is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We start the day by opening the heavy shutters and getting the towels ready for the first customers. Most of our clients live in the buildings nearby and just walk over when they need a quick trim or some threading done. It’s a friendly vibe where we talk about the local news or how the trains are running late again. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we spend a lot of time with the broom in hand. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most people find us just by walking down the road or because their neighbor mentioned us over tea. It's just a regular local business. We keep the water heater going for when someone needs a wash. Sometimes we have tea delivered from the stall around the corner. It's just a normal day for us here in Thane.
