Amruta Foods

Down at Shop No-102 in the Punjani Industrial Estate, that’s where you’ll find the Amruta Foods team. Being in Khopat, Thane West, means it’s always loud and there’s always something moving around us. The industrial estate is a maze of small shops and warehouses, and we’ve been tucked away in our corner for a good bit of time. It smells like food all day long around here, which is better than some of the other smells you get in an industrial zone. We spend most of our time in the back, working with the ingredients and making sure everything is packed up right. It gets pretty cramped inside the shop when we have a big batch going, but we’ve gotten used to working in close quarters. The fans are always running to keep the air moving, but it still gets warm during the afternoons. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad, though the Thane traffic can be a nightmare if you hit it at the wrong time. We don’t have any flashy signs or a big storefront to show off. It’s just a practical space for practical work. We deal with suppliers and delivery drivers all day, and there’s always a bit of shouting over the noise of the machines. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our version of normal and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep the kitchen running.
