We are Ab Qayyum Dal Mill Private Limited. Our mill is located at House Number 361, near the Khardi station in Shahapur, which is in the Thane district. Being close to the railway station is handy for logistics, though it does mean there is always a lot of movement and noise around. We are a dal mill, plain and simple. We’ve been operating out of this spot in Khardi for quite a while. It’s a family-style operation where everyone chips in. The building is an older one, House No. 361, and we’ve modified it over the years to fit the milling equipment. It’s not a polished corporate office. There is dust on the floors and the smell of pulses in the air all the time. We don't have any fancy titles here. Most of us just do whatever needs doing, whether it's loading bags or checking the machines. Shahapur is a bit away from the main city of Thane, so it feels a little more relaxed, even if the work itself is hard. We don't spend money on advertising or making ourselves look big. We just focus on the dal. People in the Khardi area know where we are. If you ask for the dal mill near the station, they’ll point you to us. It’s a basic setup but it gets the job done. We just keep our heads down and work.
