Kaninika Enterprise

Our place is down in Siddha, not far from the Panskura station area. Kaninika Enterprise has been running from this spot in Purba Midnapur for a while now. The office is basically a few rooms with whitewashed walls that are starting to peel a bit at the corners. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking ledgers. It’s mostly family and a few neighbors working here. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address. The morning starts early because it’s cooler then. By noon, the sun hits the roof and everyone slows down a little. We handle whatever comes through the door. Some days it’s quiet and we just organize the back room. Other days, three people are talking at once and the chai guy is late. We like the area because it’s familiar. You know who to ask if you need a favor or a spare part for the printer. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where to find us. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, but we catch up eventually. The floors are concrete and easy to sweep, which is good because it gets dusty. It’s a plain business and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. We just stay here and do the work that needs doing every day. It is just a normal way to earn a living.
