We have been based at this Bharathi Nagar spot in Kolathur for quite a while now. The address is No 3, though some people still call it the old number, but the sign clearly says New 25. The office for Sobha Developers Limited is right here in Chennai 600099. Most mornings start early because the sun gets pretty hot by ten. We keep the files and the site plans organized on some old desks that have seen better days. It is not a fancy place, just a regular office where we handle the day-to-day paperwork for the local construction projects. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it hard for the guys to get here on time, but we manage to stay on track. We have got a small space for tea and some plastic chairs for when people come by to talk about land or building work. It gets a bit dusty with all the activity around Kolathur, but that is just how it is in this part of the city. People around here know us as the place near the corner. We do not spend much on decorating the walls; they are mostly covered with maps of the city and some old calendars. We just focus on getting the work done. The power goes out once in a while, so we have a backup, but usually, it is just the sound of the fans whirring while we check our schedules. It is a busy neighborhood with a lot of houses going up lately, so there is always someone coming in to ask about something.
