Down here on Sannathi Street in Manali, we run our operations for Mantri Developers. Chennai is a big place, but this corner of the city has its own rhythm. Our office at number 45 is where all the planning for our local development work happens. It’s a simple setup. You walk in and you’ll likely see maps of the area pinned to the walls and files piled up in corners. Being in Manali means we are close to a lot of industrial and residential growth, so there is always something happening. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and checking in on construction crews. The air here feels different than the city center, and the street can get busy with people headed to the local shops or temples. We don’t go in for big, polished presentations. We’d rather just show someone a site plan or walk them through the specs of a building. Most of our day is spent balancing the office work with visits to the actual plots of land we are working on. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we’ve got the fans going and we just get on with the job. Whether it’s sorting out a boundary issue or checking the quality of the cement delivery, there’s always a task waiting. It’s a practical life, working in the real estate sector in this part of Tamil Nadu. We’ve been at this for a while and know the neighborhood well.
