Yash Provision Store

I’ve been running Yash Provision Store for a while now. We are right here in Adajan, over at Fanaswadi Dadi Seth Agiary Lane. If you’re looking for G-3, that’s where we are. It is a small space but we pack it with everything people need for their kitchens. I usually start the day early, getting the milk crates sorted and making sure the shelves don’t look too empty. It gets busy in the mornings when everyone realizes they forgot something for breakfast. I know most of the people who walk through that door by their first names. We have the usual stuff like rice, dal, and spices. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and things get a bit messy, but we manage. It’s just how it goes in a neighborhood shop. The light in the back flickers sometimes and I keep meaning to fix it. My nephew helps out when he isn't at school, though he spends more time on his phone than checking the stock. People come in to chat as much as they do to buy a packet of salt. It’s not a fancy supermarket with bright lights and matching uniforms. Just a regular counter and me behind it most days. The lane outside gets narrow when the rickshaws park there, so you have to watch your step. We try to keep the basics in stock so nobody has to walk too far to get what they need for dinner or a quick tea.
