Vardhman General Stores

Vardhman General Stores is located right in Sachin Motor Market 6. Being in a motor market means we get a lot of guys coming in with grease on their hands looking for a quick snack or some cold water. We also keep a few things that mechanics might need, like basic cleaning cloths or some heavy-duty hand soap. The store itself is a bit dark inside because the surrounding buildings are so close together. We have got metal shelves that are a bit rusty at the bottom, but they hold up the weight of the bottled drinks and the heavy cans of oil we stock. The sound of engines revving and horns honking is something you hear all day long here. It is a rough and tumble kind of place, not somewhere you would go for a fancy shopping trip. I spend a lot of time just restocking the fridge and making sure we have enough cigarettes and tea for the workers nearby. The counter is made of old plywood and has some scratches on it from years of use. We don't really have a set routine; we just open up early when the garages start their work and stay open until the last mechanic leaves. It is a dusty, noisy spot, but it is right where the action is in the market, so we stay busy enough just keeping up with the daily demand.
