Vaishvi Pan Parlour

If you are driving along the Palanpur Nd S G Highway 27, you’ll see our small shop near the side. Vaishvi Pan Parlour is mostly a place for people to take a break from the road. The highway is always loud, with trucks rumbling by at all hours. We stay open late because that’s when the long-distance drivers usually stop for something to keep them awake. It is just me and my nephew working most shifts. We have a small fridge for cold drinks and a counter that’s seen better days. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we are always dusting off the jars and the glass. It’s not the quietest place to work, but you meet a lot of interesting people coming from different cities. We don't have a menu or anything like that; people just tell us what they want and we fix it up for them. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use the old lanterns, which makes the place look a bit strange from the road. It’s a steady rhythm, day in and day out. We just focus on keeping the stock full and the floor clean enough. It's a basic setup, but it serves the people passing through this stretch of the highway. We’ve been here long enough that even the truck drivers recognize us now.
