Uma Sweet

Uma Sweet is located in Palanpur Nd, right at the Usmanpura Cross Road in building B-2. It’s a corner that gets a lot of traffic throughout the day, so there’s always a bit of noise from the car horns and the people crossing the street to the bus stop. I’ve been working here for a long time now, and I’ve gotten used to the constant movement. The shop is usually filled with the sweet smell of sugar and milk being boiled down in the back room. We have these large metal trays lined up in the glass display cases for everyone to see. I spend a lot of time arranging the different sweets so they look decent, even though I’m not really a professional decorator or anything. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the big pots of milk, and my back usually aches quite a bit by the end of my shift. Usmanpura is a busy crossroad, so we get people stopping in while they wait for their bus or after they finish their daily shopping at the market. We don't have a big marketing plan or any fancy advertisements. We just put the fresh sweets out every day and people come in when they want something. I like the regular customers who come in every week for the same thing they always buy. It makes the place feel like a real part of the local neighborhood. The floors are white tile and I have to mop them often.
