Tulsi General Store

Tulsi General Store is right on Matrushakti Road near the L H Road intersection. It is a busy corner with plenty of noise. We sell the usual stuff like rice, pulses, and household cleaners. The shelves are made of metal and they are getting a bit rusty at the bottom. We have big plastic jars full of biscuits on the front counter. People usually come in when they are in a rush. I try to be quick with the change but sometimes the coins are hard to find. The floor has some old tiles that are cracked in the corners. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It's just a shop for the people living nearby. Sometimes the cat from the tea stall next door sneaks in and sits on the bags of grain. We have to chase it out. The morning time is the busiest because everyone wants their milk and curd. In the afternoons, it gets very quiet and hot. I sit on a wooden stool and wait for the sun to go down. The walls could use a new coat of paint but we never seem to find the time. We know almost everyone by their name. It makes the day feel shorter when you can have a little chat. We don't do anything special here, just keep the shelves full and the door open. That is how we have always done it.
