Swagat Provision Stores

Swagat Provision Stores is located inside the Gulmohar Co Operative Housing Society in Jogeshwari West. Being in Adarsh Nagar on the New Link Road means we are right in a very busy part of the city, but our shop mostly serves the families in the building. It’s on the ground floor, right where people pass by every day. We stock the things that people might need suddenly while they are cooking or cleaning. Maybe they ran out of tea leaves or need a quick packet of noodles for the kids. The shop is quite narrow, so we have to stack things high up on the shelves. I spend my day weighing out items or checking the milk crates that arrive every morning. It gets very busy around 8 AM when everyone is getting ready for school and work. The road outside is always loud with traffic, but inside the society, it is much quieter. We don't have any fancy lights or displays. It’s just simple shelves and racks full of goods. Sometimes the children from the apartments come in and take a long time to choose a small piece of chocolate, and we just wait for them. It’s a neighborhood shop in every sense. We know which family likes which brand of soap. It’s a simple job, but it feels good to be part of the community. We just keep the shelves ready for whoever walks in.
