Sohamtex Engineers

Sohamtex Engineers is just a small place located at L-18 in the City Industrial Estate. We are right on Udhana Main Road, so the traffic is usually pretty bad outside our door. Most of our days are spent on the shop floor. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially when all the machines are running. We have been here for a good number of years now. Our neighbor from the unit next door often stops by for a quick tea around four o’clock. It’s a noisy area because of the other factories, but we don't really notice it anymore. We keep the big sliding doors open to let some air in, even if it brings in the dust from the road. Sometimes the power goes out, and everything just stops for a bit. We just sit on the stools and wait for it to come back on. My work clothes usually have some oil or grease on them by lunchtime. It is just the way it goes when you’re working with your hands. Most of the guys here know the back alleys of Udhana Main Road to miss the worst traffic. The concrete floor has a few cracks and stains, but it’s a solid place to work. We don't have a fancy front office or a receptionist. It is just us and the equipment. We focus on the daily tasks and getting things out the door. It’s a simple life.
