Shree Shiv Misthan Bhandar

Shree Shiv Misthan Bhandar is tucked away in Parvat Samptrao Colony, right on Productivity Road. It is one of those places that gets really busy as soon as the sun comes up because of the breakfast crowd. We have the big pans in the back where the milk is always boiling down for the sweets. The smell of sugar and cardamom is pretty much stuck in the walls by now. We spend hours making the different mithai, like peda and barfi, and then arranging them in the glass cases so they look decent. Productivity Road has plenty of people moving through, so we get a mix of office workers and local families. Sometimes the floors get a bit sticky from the syrup, and we are constantly wiping down the counters. It is a traditional kind of shop, so we do not have any fancy seating, just enough space for people to stand and pick out what they want. During festivals, the place is absolutely packed and we hardly have room to move behind the counter. We try to keep the stock fresh, but it is hard to predict which sweet people will want the most on any given day. The guys in the kitchen have been doing this for years, and they know the recipes by heart without looking at anything. It is just a regular neighborhood sweet shop where people come to get something for their tea or for a small celebration at home.
