About Shivam Engineering Works – Engineering in Surat
Our workshop is situated over in Udhyog Nagar, just a bit outside Sahara Market. We’ve been at number 31 for a long time now, and the neighbors are all used to the noise. It’s a loud place with the machines running almost all day long. We do a lot of heavy metal work and repairs for people who live and work around the industrial area. Mostly it's just grease, iron, and a lot of welding sparks flying around. It’s definitely not the cleanest place for a visit, so I wouldn't recommend wearing your good clothes if you decide to stop by. My father actually set this place up many years ago, and I just took over when he retired. We have some old lathes that still work perfectly and a few newer drills we picked up recently. There's usually a big pile of scrap metal sitting near the door waiting to be hauled off. We don't really have a front office or a reception desk. You just walk in and find someone working at a machine. We handle small jobs for local residents and bigger tasks for the factories nearby. Sometimes a part breaks on a Saturday and someone needs it fixed right then, so we do what we can to help. The heat gets pretty bad in the summer under the tin roof, but we’re used to it by now. We usually have an old radio on in the background playing whatever station comes in clearly. If you’re looking for Sahara Market, we’re just a bit further out. It’s a practical setup.
