Shiv Banarasi Pan

Shiv Banarasi Pan is located right in the middle of the Kribhconagar Main Market at shop number 10. Being right in the heart of the market means there is honestly never a quiet moment for us. There are people walking by all the time, carrying heavy bags of vegetables or looking through the stalls for new clothes. We focus mostly on the Banarasi style of pan, which usually takes a bit more time and a lot of care with the folding process. The green leaves come in fresh every morning and we have to be very careful with how we store them so they stay just right for the customers. Our little shop is crowded with many containers of different sweets and spices that go inside the pan. It is a very tight fit when more than two of us are trying to work behind the small counter at the same time. The market can get quite dusty and loud during the day, but inside our small space, we just try to focus on the task at hand. We have got a small mirror hanging on the wall so people can check their faces after they have finished their pan. Most of the people living in Kribhconagar know exactly where we are located. We do not really need a big sign. The smell of the sweet gulkand and the betel leaves tells people they have arrived. We stay late because the market stays lively even after the sun goes down.
