Ravani General Store

Ravani General Store is situated at 182 Arpit Complex, on L H Road in the Varachha Road area of Surat. We are in Bhagunagar Society, right opposite the Bajrang Apartment, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us. Surat is a city that never really seems to sleep, and Varachha Road is particularly lively. The Arpit Complex is always buzzing with people coming and going from different shops. Our space is tucked in there, filled with general items that people in the apartments across the street need. We have lots of plastic buckets, detergents, and all the small household knick-knacks. The morning starts with dragging the display stands out onto the walkway. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside the shop because we try to carry as much variety as possible. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in with all the boxes, but we know exactly where the smallest needle or the specific brand of tea is hidden. The traffic on L H Road is something else, you get used to the honking after a while. Most of our customers are regulars from Bajrang Apartment or the nearby buildings. They come in for a quick chat and to pick up their daily essentials. It’s a busy, cramped, and honest way to make a living in this part of the city. We just do our work and keep the shop going. The lights from the apartments across the street shine into our window.
