Ras Sagar Sweet House

The shop is at Ring Road 2nd Main, 4th Cross G-8. It is a bit tucked away, but once you find the 4th Cross, we are right there. We spend all morning making the milk sweets and getting the syrups ready. The smell of sugar is quite strong when you walk in. My brother helps me behind the counter and my cousin works in the back kitchen. It’s not a huge place, just enough room for a couple of glass display cases. We don’t have air conditioning, so it can get a bit warm when the sun hits the front window in the afternoon. Most of our sweets are made fresh every couple of days. We don't use many machines, mostly just big pans and heavy spoons. People from the nearby offices come in for a box of snacks on their way home. We try to keep the floor clean but with all the sugar, it’s a bit of a struggle. The Ring Road traffic is always loud, so we usually have the radio playing in the corner to drown it out. It’s a simple life running a sweet house. We don’t have fancy brochures or a website. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come and look in the case. Sometimes we run out of the milk cake early, so it’s better to come before five if you want that.
