Ramdev Kirana Store

We are over in the Bamroli area of Surat, specifically in Laxmi Narayan Society on the Dindoli Kharvasa Road. It is a residential neighborhood, so most of our customers are the families who live in the houses right around us. We sell the usual kirana items like grains, oils, and sugar. The shop is part of the community here in Dindoli. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to chat for a minute while they buy their groceries. We try to keep things organized, but when several deliveries arrive at the same time, the floor gets covered in cardboard boxes and plastic wrap. Surat can be very humid, so we have to be careful about how we store things like flour so they stay fresh. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy to attract people. Locals know we are here because they pass by every day on their way to work or school. It is a quiet kind of business for the most part, except for the busy hours in the morning. We handle all the counting and the billing by hand or with a small calculator at the desk. The shelves are packed with everything from toothbrushes to lentils. We’ve been working here for years and the routine hasn't changed much. It’s just about being there when someone realizes they ran out of salt or milk. We like being a part of this society.
