Rajasthan Sweet & Farsan

We've been here in Surat on Gulab Galli for a long time now. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when people are heading out. We mostly spend our days making different kinds of sweets and savory snacks. If you walk by, you can usually smell the frying or the sugar syrup cooking. It’s just how we do things here. The kitchen isn't fancy, but we keep it busy. We have the usual stuff people look for when they want a snack with their tea. Sometimes it gets quite crowded in the shop, and we’re just rushing around trying to keep up. It’s not always organized perfectly, but we manage. My family helps out too. We see a lot of regular faces from the neighborhood. Some folks have been coming since they were kids, and now they bring their own kids. We don't really do much advertising or anything. People just know we are here on the corner. The sweets are laid out in the glass cases, and we bag up the farsan as people ask for it. It’s a simple way to make a living, really. We just keep the stove going and make sure there's enough food for whoever stops by. Some days are hotter than others, especially in the summer, but that's just part of working near a kitchen. We’re just a local place doing what we know. Nothing more to it than that.
