Walk into Shop No 72 at Ashirwad Industrial Estate and you’ll find us. We’re in Udhna, right on the 9th Cross in Phase IV. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren’t used to the layout. Prakash Engineering Company has been sitting in this same unit for a long time. The floor is covered in metal shavings most of the time, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the way it goes when you’re doing this kind of work. We handle a lot of different jobs, mostly things that local businesses bring in when their equipment stops working. It’s a loud place, honestly. Between the lathes and the grinding, you have to yell a bit to be heard. We’ve got a small crew. We mostly just focus on the task at hand. There isn’t much time for sitting around. Lunch is usually eaten quickly so we can get back to it. The 9th Cross can get cramped with deliveries, so getting in and out sometimes takes a minute. We’ve seen the estate change a lot over the years, new neighbors coming and going, but we’re still here. It’s basic, honest work. We don’t use big words to describe what we do. We just fix things and make parts. If the power stays on, we’re happy. That’s about all there is to say about us really. We like it here.
