Omji Hotel

We are located in Hajira at Nagappa Block 5. This area is mostly workers and people passing through for business, so we see a lot of different faces every day. The hotel isn't like those big ones you see in the city center. It’s a practical building. We have rooms and a place to eat. The kitchen stays busy starting from very early in the morning because people want breakfast before they head out to the plants or the docks. You can usually smell the cooking from the hallway. We spend a lot of time doing laundry—sheets, towels, and the like. It feels like the washing machine never stops. Block 5 is a bit of a dusty area, so we are always dusting the furniture and wiping down the windows. It’s a constant battle with the dirt from the road. The staff here is small. We all do a bit of everything, from checking people in to carrying bags or helping out in the dining area. There is a small television in the lobby that stays on the news most of the time. People sit there and wait for their rides. It’s a basic place for people who need a spot to stay or a quick meal. We don't have a lot of frills, just the essentials like beds and fans. We just keep things running as best we can for the guests.
