Nilam Sweet House

Nilam Sweet House is located at Godadara 8th Cross, specifically at 8th Main in Lakshminarayana Puram P-142. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a good stretch of time now. The street can get a little crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work, but it’s mostly just a regular residential area. We open up the shutters early in the morning, usually before the sun is even fully up, to start on the day's batches. The kitchen stays pretty warm all day with the stoves going. It’s a small shop, so there’s not a lot of room to move around once we get a few people inside at the same time. We have our regulars who come in every week for the same thing, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the families around Lakshminarayana Puram by name. We don't really do much advertising or anything, people just see us when they're walking by or going to the market. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky from the syrup, but we try to keep it as clean as we can throughout the day. It’s just me and a couple of others working here most days. We don't have a big corporate setup, just a local sweet shop doing what we've always done. It's hard work and the hours are long, but it’s what we know. We just stay here at our spot on the 8th Cross and keep at it.
