Narayan General Stores

Narayan General Stores is located on Shastri Road in Bardoli. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while. Running a general store means you never know what someone is going to ask for next. One minute it's soap, the next it's a specific kind of notebook or some cooking oil. We try to keep a bit of everything on hand. The shelves are pretty full, and sometimes it's hard to find a specific spot for new stock. Shastri Road is a good location for us because people pass by on their way to work or school. We open early and stay open until the evening. It's a lot of standing on our feet, but we’re used to it. We don't use any complicated computer systems for everything; a lot of it is just done by memory and simple bookkeeping. We aren't looking to expand into a giant supermarket. We like being a small shop where we can actually talk to the people who buy from us. Some days are slow, especially when it’s very hot outside, and we just sit and wait for the evening rush. It’s a simple business. We buy things at wholesale and sell them to our neighbors. No fancy uniforms or slogans here. We just provide what's needed for the daily life of people in Bardoli. It's been our way of life for years now. We are just here to help with the basics and keep things going.
