Mahesh Plastic is my shop over at number 5 on Hains Road in the Parvat area. It is a straightforward place where we sell all types of plastic household goods. You can find everything from small mugs and plates to large storage drums for water. I try to keep the shelves organized, but with so many different sizes, it can get a bit cluttered inside. The shop has been in this spot for several years now. I usually open up early to catch the morning shoppers before it gets too hot. Most of my customers are people living in the nearby streets who need something for their kitchen or bathroom. It’s a one-man show most days, though my nephew comes by in the afternoons to help out with the inventory. We don't have fancy lighting, just a few tubelights that do the job. The floor is concrete and we have to sweep it a lot because of the dust coming in from the road. I keep a small notebook where I track what needs to be restocked from the wholesalers. Dealing with plastic means things don't break easily, which is good for storage. Sometimes I sit on a plastic stool outside the door when it’s quiet and watch the cars go by. People stop by to chat even if they don’t need a bucket that day. It’s a humble business, and I’m happy to be part of the local market here on Hains Road. We close around eight when the street starts to get dark and quiet.
