Laxmi Super Store

We open the shutters early here at Laxmi Super Store. It is usually quiet around Divya Shakti Society when we start our day. Most people in Punagam know where we are because we are right near Priyanka Palace. We spend most of our morning just moving boxes around and making sure things are where they should be on the shelves. The place is packed with stuff people need every day like flour and soap. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the evening when everyone comes home from work. We have been here for a while now. The fan in the corner makes a bit of noise but it helps with the Surat heat. It is just me and a couple of others here most days. We keep track of everything in a ledger book. Life is pretty simple in this part of town and we see the same people every day. Some of them stay for a bit of a chat while they get their bags filled. It is not a fancy place, just a regular shop with floors that need sweeping twice a day because of the dust. We try to keep the staples like rice and lentils ready so people do not have to wait. It gets busy during the festivals especially with the society right there. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. That is just how it is for us here in Surat.
