Laxmi Palace

Being right on Maninagar Station Road in Katargam means we see a lot of people passing by. Our place is at 26/B and it has been there through a lot of changes in the neighborhood. You can hear the trains if you listen closely enough, especially in the evenings when things start to quiet down just a little bit. It is a busy area and we are right in the thick of it. The shop itself is just a regular place. We have some old furniture and some stacks of papers that probably need sorting out one of these days. We do not spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. We just care about getting the work done and being fair to the people who walk through the door. Usually, the morning starts with sweeping the front and getting the fans going because it gets quite stuffy in Katargam. We see the same faces every day, people going to work or heading back to the station. It is a practical kind of life. We do not have a big corporate team or anything like that. It is just us. We deal with whatever comes our way, whether it is a busy Monday or a slow Thursday afternoon. It is not always easy, but it is what we know. We have been at this address for years and it feels like we are part of the street now.
