Laxmi Engineering

Laxmi Engineering is a small shop located at P 353 in Katargam. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It started out as just a small shed with one machine, and slowly we added a bit more space. We mostly do job work for other local businesses and repair parts that people bring in. It’s the kind of place where you can hear the sound of grinding and welding from the street. The floor is usually covered in iron filings, and we all have grease on our hands by the end of the shift. We don't have a sales team or any brochures. If someone needs something fixed or made, they just walk in and talk to us. We’ve seen Katargam change a lot over the years, with new buildings going up everywhere, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We have a small kettle for tea that we share in the afternoons. It’s not a fancy operation, just some honest labor. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just take the metal and turn it into what’s needed. Sometimes things go wrong and a machine breaks down, then we spend the whole night fixing it so we don't fall behind. That’s just the way it goes here. We take pride in just getting the job done without making a big fuss about it. We just keep working hard.
