Joshina & Thakker Engineering Stores

If you go down to Begampura, near where the Moti Cinema is, you will find Joshina & Thakker Engineering Stores. We are at 4/908. It is an older part of the city and our shop definitely reflects that. We carry a whole lot of different engineering supplies and tools. The shelves are packed high with all sorts of metal bits, bolts, and hardware. It is a bit cramped inside because we try to keep everything anyone might possibly need for a job. There is a certain smell of oil and metal that never really leaves the place. We have been here long enough that we know most of the regular customers by their first names. They come in looking for very specific parts and we usually know exactly which box it is in, even if the shop looks a bit messy to anyone else. Begampura is a crowded area, so there are always people walking past the door and peering in. We do not use a computer system for our inventory; we just remember where things are or look through the old ledgers. It is a very hands-on way of doing business. Sometimes we sit outside on a small stool when things are slow. We are not a big chain store. We just provide the tools that local workers and contractors need for their daily work. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
