Jay Ambe Farsan Sweet Mart

Jay Ambe Farsan Sweet Mart is located at number 9 on Bsk Road, just off Vasta Devdi Road. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood, and we’ve been operating out of this shop for several years now. The space is filled with the various containers of farsan and the glass cases for the sweets. We spend a lot of time weighing out bags for people who are stopping by on their way home. The street outside is often narrow and packed with scooters, so it can be a bit of a squeeze to get to our door. Inside, we have some old wooden shelves that hold the dry snacks, and they’ve seen better days, but they do the job just fine. We don’t use any fancy machines; most of what we do is by hand, from mixing the dough to packing the boxes. There’s a certain rhythm to the day, starting with the prep work in the back and then dealing with the rush of people in the evenings. The lighting isn't the best, and the floor tile is a bit cracked near the entrance, but it’s a comfortable place for us. We know most of our regular customers by their names or at least by what they usually order. It’s just a local mart where we try to keep the bins full and the shop open consistently. We don't put on any acts; what you see is what you get when you walk in.
