Hotel Priya

Our hotel is in the Modi Bhavan building over in Athwalines. It is a well-known area in Surat. We are directly opposite Mission Hospital, which defines a lot of our daily life here. We get many families staying with us because they have someone at the hospital. It makes the atmosphere a bit different than a tourist hotel. People are often a bit stressed or tired, so we try to keep things quiet and simple for them. The building is older, and the rooms are just standard, no-frills spaces. We don't have a big staff, so you will see the same faces every day. I spend a lot of time making sure the water is cold and the floors are swept. Surat is a very busy city, and the heat can be tough, so we do our best with the fans and the ventilation. Athwalines is a good area, though, with plenty of things nearby. We have been operating here for quite some time now. We aren't a corporate chain or anything like that. It is just a local business in an old building. We take things one day at a time, checking people in, helping with bags, and keeping the place running. It is practical work for us. There is always a bulb to change or a floor to mop, but it keeps us busy and we are glad to be here.
